The Yoga Ashram

About Satya Yoga Ashram

Satya Yoga Ashram is a traditional Yoga school in Rishikesh Himalaya, internationally certified in India and overseas by Yoga Alliance. Satya in Sanskrit means “Truthfulness” and is aswell one of Yoga’s Yamas ( the social conduct of yogic lifestyle). The founder of Satya Yoga ashram – Satyanarayan – is a dedicated yoga practitioner and highly skilled yoga Master, who has been teaching yoga in Europe and Asia for many years.

We are honoured to keep our teachings true to the transformative and ancient origins of the discipline. We follow the tradition of Swami Sivananda and Swami Satyananda Saraswati, and their vision of Yoga for world, peace and harmony. We offer a broad study of Yogic philosophy and psychology, teaching methods and lifestyle.

Satya Yoga Ashram aims to empower students physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. By acquiring knowledge, developing intuition and increasing confidence within, you will discover an abundance of gifts within. Gifts that you can share and inspire others with. We will provide you with tools needed for you to become a skillful Yoga teacher or to simply deepen your spiritual practice of self transformation.

We have designed our yoga programs with a modern approach to all aspects of traditional yoga.
Our experienced Yoga teachers will be here to guide you gently throughout the journey. With the support of the beautiful Himalayas and The Eternal Ganga we will welcome you to an energetic yet calm environment where your path may unfold in an intelligent and calm manner.

Our teachings contain practical lessons on Traditional Hatha yoga, which will lead you to a deeper understanding of other paths of yoga such as Kundalini and Raja yoga.

There are mainly four paths of Yoga and all of them lead to the same goal, transformation and realisation of the true Self. Roads are different but the destination is the same. The four paths originated from different stand points and are known as: Bhakti Yoga (devotion), Karma Yoga (selfless action), Jnana Yoga (knowledge) and Raja Yoga ( physical and mental practice of yoga).

All the teachings provide a strong foundation in the path of Hatha and Raja Yoga, in order to enjoy the supreme bliss of being in meditative state. These teachings, together with the lessons on Asana and Pranayama will be of great introduction to beginners as well as more advanced practitioners.

The four paths are not separate from each other but must be practised all together, as these terms are just to understand it intellectually. They indicate the Indian traditions and show they are in harmony with each other.

The approach of Yogic way of life is very simple: regardless of age, physique, and walk of life anyone can benefit from this step-by-step guide to Asana (posture), Pranayama (breathing techniques), relaxation, diet, correct thinking and meditation. These key teachings are shared during the 200hrs course to help you understand and to experience this ancient way of bringing balance into every aspect of your life.

‘’If a single individual is benefitted by these teachings, our sincere effort to serve the higher good will be achieved ‘’.
